The Computer Professionals (Registration Council of Nigeria) has declared it illegal for individuals and organizations to engage in computing practice without proper registration and licensing. CPN President Dr Essien Eyo announced that the 20th Information Technology Professionals' Assembly will take place in Abuja on May 13-14, 2026, focusing on digital resilience and inclusion. He emphasized the need to strengthen Nigeria's digital foundations against cyber threats and emerging digital risks.
