Crashed plane in DR Congo was too old and killed 16 passengers

A Tracep Let L-410 aircraft crashed in the Kenge area of the Democratic Republic of Congo, killing 16 people according to the Chairman of the Régie des Voies Aériennes. The aircraft, aged 34 and registered 9S-GUC, carried 12 passengers and 4 crew members, all of whom died in the crash. It was on a domestic flight from Ndolo to Kikwit and Ilebo when it malfunctioned during the return trip. Two senior army officers, including Lieutenant General Joseph Mutombo Ka, also died in the crash.
