CS Mvurya Confirms Payment of Harambee Stars Players' Allowances After Standoff

Kenyan Sports Ministry confirmed the payment of Harambee Stars players' allowances after players reportedly boycotted training ahead of the 2027 AFCON qualifier against Eritrea. Sports CS Salim Mvurya stated that the ministry had fulfilled financial commitments for previous assignments in Zambia, South Africa, Turkey, and the U-20 CECAFA tournament in Tanzania. The government also settled overdue salaries for the technical staff, with some payments for upcoming assignments still pending in consultation with FKF. Despite the payments, players refused to train, claiming the amounts received, such as 62,400 KSh for Turkey and similar for South Africa, are below their expected allowances.
