CS Wandayi Confirms EPRA Plans to Reduce Diesel Prices After Ruto Directive

Energy Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi confirmed that EPRA will reduce diesel prices by Ksh10 per litre in the upcoming June-July fuel price review, following President William Ruto's directive. Diesel in Nairobi will retail at Ksh222.86 per litre. Wandayi urged transport operators to reflect the reduction in passenger fares, emphasizing that fuel and fare prices should move both upward and downward. He also noted that geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and seasonal demand in Europe are affecting global oil prices, but government intervention through the Petroleum Development Levy has cushioned Kenyans.
