Civil Society Organisations, youths, students, and market women protested yesterday at the Federal Ministry of Finance in Abuja, demanding an end to what they termed excessive borrowing by the Federal Government. The protesters, under the aegis of Climate Action, highlighted that the rising public debt-servicing burden is crowding out funding for critical public services and undermining efforts to tackle climate change and poverty. They called for greater transparency in public debt management and increased resource allocation to sectors that directly improve the welfare of Nigerians.
