Guyana has received six individuals, Cuban and Afghan nationals, deported from the United States due to immigration issues. Guyana's Foreign Secretary Robert Persaud stated that no further requests for non-citizen deportations have been made by the US. An agreement was reached between Guyana and the US to accept these deportees, who had no criminal backgrounds. This deal will last for one year and does not constitute permanent resettlement.
