Culture: Cameroonian Hermine Yollo wins the RFI Theatre Prize 2026 - Lebledparle

Hermine Yollo, born in 1981 in Douala, has won the 2026 RFI Theatre Prize, succeeding Congolese playwright Israël Nzila. Her work, « Ima Maryam: le jugement de Marie », examines the figure of Maryam, questioning dogmas, women's roles, and violence against women. The award includes professional support, residencies, and opportunities to showcase her work, boosting her presence on the international Francophone theatre scene and bringing recognition to Cameroon in the performing arts.
