Customs generates N1.38trn, seizes smuggled goods worth N61.3bn in 2 months

The Nigeria Customs Service generated N1.38 trillion in July and August while intercepting smuggled goods valued at over N61.3 billion. Spokesman DCC Abdullahi Maiwada reported that the Apapa Area Command achieved a historic monthly revenue of N323 billion in July. Notable seizures included 399 Jojef pump-action rifles and 3,300 cartridges of explosives intercepted at Tin Can Island Port.
