Customs seizes 56 containers of prohibited items worth N5.53bn

The Nigeria Customs Service seized 56 containers of prohibited items worth N5.53 billion. Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, stated that this operation aimed to prevent prohibited goods from entering the Nigerian market, which harms local business productivity. He also emphasized that unchecked importation of products that can be produced locally puts additional pressure on Nigerian farmers and producers.
