Elena Rybakina retains Ningbo title, wins first trophy as world number one

Elena Rybakina defeated unseeded Canadian Leylah Fernandez 6-2, 6-2 in the Ningbo Open final to retain her title. The Kazakh won her first trophy since becoming world number one and moved closer to securing the year-end top ranking. She has won the Australian Open and US Open this season. After setbacks in Beijing and Wuhan, Rybakina will compete at the Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo before the season finale at Indian Wells from November 8.
