Cyberattack on Avia platform: GSIE Technology thwarted a fraud

GSIE Technology, based in Point E, reported a loss of 168 million FCFA due to a cyberattack on its digital financial services platform. Hackers exploited a vulnerability to deploy malicious programs, steal login credentials, and initiate transfers to fake wallets, but the company's quick response prevented any funds from being withdrawn. Only 79 instant transfers totaling about 11 million FCFA to Orange Money accounts were completed, and authorities are investigating to identify the perpetrators.
