Harry Kane hopes for a “special night” at Monday’s Ballon d’Or ceremony in his hometown of London, where bookmakers make him the favourite. The Bayern Munich striker scored 73 goals for club and country last season, the second-highest total in history behind Lionel Messi’s 82 in 2010-2011. Against Arsenal on Wednesday, Kane set up Alphonso Davies’s equaliser and won and converted a penalty before Declan Rice made it 2-2. Kane says he is trying not to think about his chances of a first Ballon d’Or, with Lamine Yamal, Rodri, Kylian Mbappé and Michael Olise among his rivals.
