Military neutralises 60 terrorists, rescues 42 kidnap victims

Nigerian Armed Forces troops killed 60 terrorists, rescued 42 kidnapped people and arrested 56 suspected collaborators, arms dealers and logistics suppliers in a week of nationwide operations. Defence Media Operations Director Major General Michael Onoja said troops repelled attacks at Buni Yadi in Yobe State and Bitta in Borno State, recovering weapons and ammunition. More than 15 terrorists and family members surrendered, reportedly citing military pressure and divisions between rival JAS and ISWAP factions. The operations also rescued abductees, including a woman who escaped from the Mandara Mountains.
