EPL: Schmeichel calls Man United star’s performance ‘disgraceful’ after 2-0 defeat to Chelsea

Manchester United lost 2-0 to Chelsea on Saturday, extending the team’s winless run to nine matches under Michael Carrick. Peter Schmeichel sharply criticized Lisandro Martinez and said the defender bore full responsibility for the defeat. Martinez was blamed for his defending on Morgan Rogers’s 50th-minute opener, then sent off for striking Wesley Fofana with his forearm in the penalty area; Cole Palmer converted the penalty in the 64th minute. Schmeichel also questioned Martinez’s demeanor as he left the pitch after his dismissal.
