Dakar 2026 Youth Olympics: Presenter Abba No Stress embroiled in major controversy

Presenter and comedian Abba No Stress has faced criticism on social media after thanking Macky Sall, who initiated Senegal’s bid to host the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games, and President Bassirou Diomaye Faye, who carried the project through to completion. Supporters of Ousmane Sonko objected to his mentioning the former president, Pastef’s longtime political opponent, alongside the current head of state. Political tensions have grown since Sonko was dismissed as prime minister in May 2026. Online reactions include attacks invoking the phrase “72 hours” as well as messages of support for the artist.
