Dakar-AIBD by the TER: The journey doesn't start at the station, and that's where the problem lies

Since September 28, 2026, a new 19-kilometer section of the TER connects Dakar city center to the airport in 55 minutes, making the total line 55 kilometers long. However, passengers face logistical challenges in reaching the station and the airport, especially in getting from their homes to the station and moving from the platform to the terminal with luggage. The main issue is the initial part of the journey, which can cause delays and complicate travel. The ticket costs 4,000 FCFA in second class and 7,500 FCFA in first class, with the Diamniadio–AIBD section free until October 4, 2026.
