Dakar: Counterfeit Money Network Dismantled, Five Suspects Arrested

The Dakar Research Brigade dismantled a counterfeit money network after several days of infiltration and surveillance. Five suspects were arrested and placed in custody for criminal association, attempted fraud, counterfeiting, and possession of counterfeiting equipment. Searches in Mbour and Nguérigne led to the seizure of over 1 million euros in 500-euro notes, $91,900, several million CFA francs, chemicals, and counterfeiting equipment, with a total estimated value of over 752 million FCFA. Two vehicles used by the network were also recovered.
