Dakar reconnects with the IMF: A $2.2 billion loan approved for Senegal

Senegal has reached a new principle agreement with the IMF for a $2.2 billion loan aimed at supporting public finance management as the debt reaches 132% of GDP. This loan follows the suspension of a previous $1.8 billion aid program due to an undeclared debt of $9 billion. The agreement is seen as a management tool to consolidate state finances and support structural reforms promised by the new authorities.
