Dakar reconnects with the IMF: A $2.2 billion loan soon to be granted to Senegal

Senegal has reached a new principle agreement with the IMF for a $2.2 billion loan aimed at supporting the cleanup of public finances as debt reaches 132% of GDP. This loan comes after the suspension of a previous $1.8 billion program due to the discovery of a $9 billion undisclosed debt. The new authorities hope this funding will help consolidate state coffers and implement structural reforms.
