Dangote solicited for a new oil project in Africa, the construction of an 800km pipeline

The Dangote group is considering the construction of an 800-kilometer pipeline connecting the Turkana oil fields to the port of Lamu in Kenya. President William Ruto confirmed discussions on this project, which aims to secure crude supply for the Lekki refinery in Nigeria. The groundbreaking for a refinery in Lamu, capable of processing 700,000 barrels per day, is set for September 30, with commercial operations expected by 2030. However, environmental concerns are arising regarding the site's establishment.
