Daring rescue operation saves stranded hikers on Devil’s Peak

Wilderness Search and Rescue (WSAR) teams were called into action on Friday night after two hikers became stranded on cliffs above the contour path on Devil’s Peak. The hikers, aged 22 and 20, attempted to climb First Waterfall Ravine but abandoned their ascent, putting themselves in danger while trying to down-climb a sheer cliff face. They contacted the WSAR emergency number after being exposed to a potentially fatal fall.
