Death toll from Houthi strike on Yemen government camp rises to 73

Authorities in Yemen’s Shabwa province raised the death toll to 73 after a Houthi strike on a government forces camp on Monday. Fourteen people remain missing and more than 200 were injured; those at the camp were new recruits to the internal security forces undergoing training. Army spokesperson Majed al-Nuzaili said three ballistic missiles were fired, and Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree confirmed the group carried out the attack. The strike comes as fighting intensifies following the collapse of a years-long truce, with officials fearing a ground offensive similar to the Houthis’ seizure of Mokha last month.
