More than 1,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza since the US-brokered October ceasefire between Hamas and Israel, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry. The humanitarian situation remains catastrophic, and no agreement has been reached on the second phase of the deal, which would see Israeli soldiers withdraw and Hamas disarm. Israel now controls 64 percent of the Gaza Strip, up from 53 percent envisaged. Families were forced to flee after the expansion of the so-called 'Yellow Line' westward.
