Debt crisis: Senegal turns to IMF [Business Africa]

Facing a risk of default and heavy debt, Senegal has formed a new government tasked with restarting talks with the IMF. Once buoyed by hope in 2024, Bassirou Diomaye Faye and Ousmane Sonko had promised economic sovereignty and transparency, but economic restructuring has proven challenging. The country aims to reach an agreement with the IMF by June 30.
