Decision on Senegal’s AFCON final appeal expected by the end of November

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) says it will issue a reasoned ruling on Senegal’s appeal by the end of November 2026. Senegal is challenging the Confederation of African Football’s decision to declare Morocco champions, after Senegal beat the hosts 1-0 in extra time in January’s final in Rabat. CAF overturned the result two months later, ruling that Senegal had forfeited after players left the pitch for 14 minutes in protest over a penalty. Morocco was awarded a 3-0 victory.
