Defence Chief Seeks Civilian Support and Intelligence Sharing to Fight Terrorism

Chief of Defence Staff Gen. Olufemi Oluyede urged civilians and host communities to support the fight against terrorism by sharing intelligence with the armed forces. He spoke Tuesday in Abuja on the sidelines of the 2026 Chief of Naval Staff annual retreat. Oluyede said security requires cooperation among agencies as well as communities, noting that no military service can do the job alone and that public support and intelligence reports are essential to making Nigeria safer.
