Defence Headquarters denies ceasefire with Boko Haram, ISWAP and other groups

Nigeria’s Defence Headquarters denied reports that the government or military had agreed to a ceasefire with Boko Haram, ISWAP or any other terrorist group. Major General Samaila Uba said military offensives were continuing and pointed to arrests, operations against armed groups and rescued victims as evidence that troops were maintaining pressure. He said the Armed Forces were mapping areas where displaced fighters might have relocated and strengthening their presence in vulnerable areas through new formations and units.
