Democracy Day: Adebayo calls for defence of democracy

Adewole Adebayo, presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) for the 2027 general elections, called on Nigerians to renew their commitment to democracy, credible elections, and constitutional governance. He recalled the sacrifice of the late M.K.O. Abiola, winner of the annulled June 12, 1993 election, and criticized electoral manipulation, vote buying, and security agency interference that undermine public trust.
