Democracy Day: Nigerians prefer ballots to bullets – FG

Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, stated that the 27-year celebration of uninterrupted democratic governance demonstrates that Nigerians prefer ballots to bullets. He decried the annulment of the June 12, 1993 presidential election, which he said was won by MKO Abiola, and noted that the annulment led to the PDP's power rotation agreement between North and South.
