Democracy fails without inclusion of persons with disabilities — ADC leader

Chike Okogwu, the national leader of Persons with Disabilities in the African Democratic Congress, stated that Nigeria's democracy cannot be complete while millions of persons with disabilities remain excluded from opportunities, services, and governance. In a Democracy Day message, he lamented that concerns raised four years ago remain unresolved, citing discrimination, exclusion, and inaccessible public facilities. He also highlighted that the economic crisis, insecurity, unemployment, unreliable electricity, inaccessible healthcare and transportation, and digital exclusion worsen the plight of persons with disabilities.
