Demolitions in Koumassi-Campement: PEC-CI Demands Thorough Investigation and Calls on National Assembly

The Platform of 37 Ivorian civil society organizations (PEC-CI) is demanding a thorough investigation into the demolitions that took place on June 3, 2026, in Koumassi-Campement, Abidjan, leaving many families homeless during the rainy season and exam period. The organization notes that Jacques Alloui Brou claimed ownership of the 34 hectares involved but argues that this alone does not justify the scale of the destruction. It regrets the silence of the National Assembly and questions administrative responsibilities, especially since Prosecutor Koné Braman stated that the prosecutor's office was not informed of the execution of the court decision. The PEC-CI welcomes the Prosecutor's self-referral and encourages him to continue the investigation.
