Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin has called on the Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, to revoke the contract for the Kano–Gwarzo–Dayi road project, citing poor performance by contractor CGC Nigeria Limited. The project, which involves upgrading a 100-kilometer single carriageway to dual carriageway, received N19 billion in 2025 and N37 billion in 2026 but has seen unsatisfactory progress. Barau urged an immediate assessment and possible contract revocation to serve the public interest.
