Diabetes and Hypertension: A Screening Campaign for Populations Living Near Cement Plants

Since September 16, 2026, the National Program for the Fight Against Metabolic Diseases and the Prevention of Non-Communicable Diseases (PNLMM/PMNT) and the Association of Cement Producers in Côte d'Ivoire (APCCI) have been conducting free screenings for diabetes and hypertension. Medical teams have visited several locations, including Yopougon, where awareness and screening sessions were held. Cases of abnormalities were treated on-site, and Dr. Kouakou Ernest emphasized the importance of regular screening for these silent diseases.
