Dialogue in DRC: 'With a new population-centered approach, a mediator is not needed,' says the New Civil Society

The signing of the decree establishing an organizing committee for the national dialogue in the DRC has sparked reactions. The Congolese Civil Society, represented by Jonas Tshiombela, welcomes President Tshisekedi's initiative but remains cautious about the profile of the committee's facilitators. He criticizes the neutrality of religious groups CENCO and ECC, claiming they are part of the conflict due to their public positions. He argues that the dialogue does not require a neutral mediator, as these religious actors are no longer neutral since the crisis began.
