Digital connectivity must translate into productivity - Oduwole

The Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr Jumoke Oduwole, called for increased investment in digital infrastructure in Nigeria, emphasizing that connectivity must lead to productivity and tangible economic opportunities. She highlighted the importance of fiber networks, data centers, cloud infrastructure, digital platforms, and secure data systems, noting their role in trade and economic growth. Oduwole pointed out that Africa's digital economy, driven by mobile technologies, contributed about $240 billion and supported around 13 million jobs in 2025.
