Cyberattacks involving distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) targeting websites, servers, and networks in Kenya increased by 114.3% in the year ending June 2026, reaching 72.16 million incidents compared to 33.68 million the previous year, according to the Communications Authority of Kenya. These attacks, carried out by cybercriminals, aim to make digital systems inaccessible. The rise indicates a significant escalation in malicious activities targeting Kenya's digital infrastructure.
