A new species of Dinodontosaurus, dubbed the 'cow of the Triassic', has been identified in Tanzania, where it lived around 240 million years ago. This large herbivore, with a turtle-like beak and enormous tusks, was capable of defending itself against predators. The fossils, discovered in the 1960s, have been recently examined, revealing geological links between Tanzania and South America.
