Disaster zone declared across Bangkok as heavy rain triggers flooding

Bangkok authorities have declared a disaster zone across all 50 districts after three days of heavy rainfall caused severe flooding. Nearly 300mm of rain has fallen since Thursday afternoon, with the eastern part of the city most affected. Efforts to drain the water are ongoing, but the canals are full, and more rain is forecast. Residents are advised to move their cars to higher ground, and public transport has provided free parking options until October 2.
