Displaced persons call for the evacuation of waste at ISP and Kigonze sites in Bunia

Displaced persons at the ISP and Kigonze sites in Bunia, Ituri province, are calling on authorities for the urgent evacuation of waste accumulating near their homes. Gérard Maki, vice-president of the displaced persons' committee, reported that this waste, including household garbage and fecal matter, exposes the population to health risks. The provincial civil protection service described the situation as alarming and urged for a rapid mobilization of sanitation services.
