'Diversify funding or stagnate' - Education Minister reads riot act to varsities

Education Minister Dr. Tunji Alausa warned vice-chancellors of Nigeria's public universities to stop relying solely on government allocations. He revealed that only four out of 68 federal universities were effectively utilizing alternative funding sources. Alausa urged university leaders to build relationships with alumni, businesses, and philanthropists to diversify their funding.
