Domestic Gas: Cameroon Issues Tender for 60,000 Tons, Nearly 40% of 2025 Imports

Cameroon is issuing a tender on September 1, 2026, to import 60,000 tons of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), which accounts for nearly 40% of liquefied butane imports in 2025. The volume will be divided into two lots of 35,000 and 25,000 tons to meet consumption needs for 2026. Bids can be collected at the Hydrocarbon Price Stabilization Fund in Yaoundé, with the opening scheduled for September 8.

Synthetic General Tax: 15 billion FCFA transferred to municipalities, companies contest the withholding delay

Nearly 15 billion FCFA were collected and transferred to municipalities in the first half of 2026 under the Synthetic General Tax (IGS) for the 2025 fiscal year, according to Roger Athanase Meyong Abath, the Director General of Taxes. This amount represents a 14% increase compared to the 2024 fiscal year. The Ministry of Finance had previously announced a transfer of 10.35 billion FCFA to municipalities for the 2025 fiscal year.
