Don’t fund pilgrimages with stolen money — Sultan tells politicians

The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, warned politicians and public officials against sponsoring pilgrimages to Mecca and Jerusalem with stolen public funds. He stated that using corrupt money for religious activities cannot be justified, emphasizing that God is not corrupt. He also urged religious leaders to work with anti-corruption agencies and foster mutual understanding between Christians and Muslims, while cautioning against inflammatory statements during elections.
