Douala: American Cybastion plans to invest 42 billion FCFA for an AI data center and power plant

American company Cybastion plans to invest 75 million dollars, approximately 42.25 billion FCFA, in a data center in Douala focused on artificial intelligence, with a dedicated power production capacity. This project was presented during the first Economic and Trade Dialogue between Cameroon and the United States on August 27, 2026. Details regarding the computing power, the capacity of the power plant, and the technology to be used remain unknown.
