The Cameroonian government signed a financing agreement of 139.2 billion FCFA with the Islamic Development Bank to rehabilitate the Douala-Bafoussam road, a heavily degraded strategic route. The €212.35 million loan aims to improve road safety, ease traffic flow, and boost economic exchanges between the Littoral and Western regions. The project is also intended to support agricultural, commercial, and industrial activities in the area. This route, vital for daily transport and trade with neighboring countries, has suffered deterioration leading to accidents and longer travel times.
