Douala BRT: The State Covers VAT to Reduce the Deficit of 104.6 Billion FCFA

The Cameroonian government has decided to cover the VAT on certain purchases related to the Douala Urban Mobility Project (PMUD) to address a financing deficit of 104.6 billion FCFA. Alamine Ousmane Mey, the Minister of Economy, confirmed this measure to the mayor of Douala, Roger Mbassa Ndiné. This initiative aims to finance an additional 66.8 km of feeder roads for the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), bringing the mass transport network to approximately 80 km.
