DPG: Al Aminou Lô announces a gradual reform of energy subsidies

Prime Minister Al Aminou Lô announced a gradual reform of energy subsidies, highlighting that 600 billion FCFA of the 800 billion allocated benefits the wealthiest 20% of households. This reform aims to redirect subsidies towards vulnerable populations, estimated at 8 million Senegalese, so that everyone pays according to their capacity. The initiative will be implemented through a rectifying finance law submitted to the National Assembly.
