Dr Vincent Brown first person to face UK prosecution over Rwanda genocide

Dr Vincent Brown, 65, appeared in Westminster Magistrates' Court, becoming the first person in the UK charged over the 1994 Rwanda genocide. He faces a charge of conduct ancillary to genocide and six counts of conduct ancillary to murder related to alleged killings in the Rugenge district of Kigali between April 6 and April 13, 1994, involving Tutsi victims. Brown, a qualified doctor in Rwanda, denied the allegations and intends to clear his name before a jury.
