DRC: 167.25 GW of hydropower potential now accessible to investors

The Democratic Republic of the Congo has established a mapping of hydropower sites, accessible through the Hydro RDC portal, identifying a total hydropower potential of 167.25 GW across 3,349 sites. Among these, 251 sites have facilities and are either operational or inactive. The granting of concessions and licenses in the hydropower sector will be based on this mapping, which is dynamic and subject to updates with new potential sites.
