DRC: 27 soldiers sentenced to death in Uvira for cowardice in front of the enemy

The Uvira military garrison court in South Kivu sentenced 27 soldiers to death for cowardice in front of the enemy, following a trial of 112 soldiers who fled clashes against the AFC/M23 rebellion and its allies. Additionally, 54 soldiers received five years of penal servitude, 10 were sentenced to six months for disobedience, and 21 were acquitted. Six female soldiers were among those convicted for violation of orders and cowardice, with no details on their sentences.
