DRC: After deaths in the Panacée hall fire in Kinshasa, the government orders control of event venues

A fire at the Panacée event hall in Kinshasa resulted in 15 deaths during a wedding. In response to this tragedy, Deputy Prime Minister of the Interior, Shabani Lukoo Bihango, ordered on September 5, 2026, a systematic inspection of event venues and leisure facilities. He also called for the mobilization of security services and the immediate closure of establishments not meeting safety standards.
